Greg and Brooke cultivated TruPros based on the years of challenges that Greg endured as a new entrepreneur in the electrical trade. Facing countless challenges, he adopted the mindset of "SAY YES! AND FIGURE IT OUT LATER" whenever new opportunities or obstacles arose. Despite not having access to business courses during trade school, Greg was determined to learn by asking questions and paying for costly mistakes which he refers to as "the stupid tax." To aid other trade entrepreneurs in their journey, Greg and Brooke developed The TruPros Framework, incorporating the very tactics that have led to their success today.

GREG GIROUX

Greg's journey has been that of an underdog, facing challenges throughout his life as he battled through the public school system, often perceived as a nuisance due to his ADHD. Traditional classroom learning didn't appeal to him, but everything changed when he discovered the electrical trade at a vocational high school. His passion ignited, and he even surprised everyone by joining the National Honors Society.

After obtaining his electrical journeyman's license, Greg fearlessly launched his own business in 2007, despite it being a challenging time to do so. Through trial and error, he realized that running a business entailed more than just performing electrical work. Overcoming numerous obstacles, which he humorously refers to as "the stupid tax," he gradually acquired the knowledge that once paralyzed him.

In 2019, Greg shed the underdog mentality and founded TruPros with a vision to empower other aspiring tradespeople-turned-entrepreneurs who lacked business training in their trade schools. His mission was clear: to support and uplift these individuals, enabling them to conquer the underdog within themselves and achieve success in both their businesses and lives.

BROOKE GIROUX

Brooke's upbringing in an entrepreneurial household exposed her to the intricacies of running a business, particularly when it involves a spouse. Excelling as a straight-A student, she balanced academics, sports, and a part-time job. Recognizing her drive, Brooke's parents encouraged her to pursue a business education, leading her to Babson College, where she earned a degree in business management, concentrating in marketing.

Following her college years, Brooke immersed herself in the dynamic world of startups, relishing the fast-paced environment and its defining moments. During an eight-year tenure at a tech-media company, she honed her skills in lead generation and email marketing, but eventually felt underutilized. It was then that she realized the potential of combining her expertise with Greg's vision to create something extraordinary.

In 2019, Brooke made a significant career shift, bidding farewell to her corporate job to venture into real estate investing. Simultaneously, she and Greg began weaving together his dream and her marketing acumen, culminating in the birth of TruPros.

THE JOURNEY

THE BEGINNING

At the age of14, Greg begins his apprenticeship with a local electrical contractor. Just "putting in his time" at the bottom of the totem pole. He keenly observes how employees are treated and notices that their skillsets are significantly underutilized.

THE LEAP

Greg took a leap and obtained a balloon mortgage to purchase his first home early in the year. During the paperwork process, the monthly amount owed appeared overwhelming, leading him to express his concern to those present. Their response was reassuring, "don't worry about it."

Convinced that he could run a business more effectively than his boss, a common belief among those in the trades, he started an LLC the same weekend he was moving into his new home.

THE STRUGGLE

What Greg didn't foresee was the market crash that occurred just a few months later, leaving him and his fledgling business in a sticky situation. Struggling to navigate the complexities of starting and sustaining a business while grappling with financial constraints, he found himself keeping his heat at a mere 52 degrees and a fridge with the bare minimum. In the midst of these challenges, Greg couldn't help but think, "There has to be a better way."

THE "BETTER WAY"

After dedicating years to acquiring customers and maintaining a steady workflow, Greg shifted his focus to the backend of his business. Delving into aspects like financials, inefficiencies, marketing, and accounts payable and receivable, he had a revelation: paying close ATTENTION to your business allows it to pay YOU back in return. With this newfound understanding, Greg embarked on a journey of improvement and growth. As a result, over the next few years, he successfully built and expanded his electrical company, achieving six-figure revenues.

TRUPROS IS BORN

Brooke left her corporate job and began brainstorming the idea of TruPros with Greg. The inception of The TruPros Framework had a clear objective: to empower contractors to run their businesses with greater efficiency, ultimately granting them the precious gift of time to savor moments with their families and pursue their hobbies.
